Grapefruit

Glitter and gasp,
The smile is vague,
The door is open,
No one comes in.

Does it stand still?
Or does it move around?
Kept unbound,
The maker is found.

The meter is followed,
By many dim hollows,
For the successor of might,
The sun breaks through.

Frozen and burnt,
They stand unturned,
For they never move
By the rustle of the grass.

Together is one,
One we are all,
Make no mistake,
Friends of those,
Surely stand tall
